Driver Arrested in Georgetown DUI Collision
Seattle, WA (September 29, 2023) – A female pedestrian died and the authorities arrested a 64-year-old driver following a First Avenue South accident.
The authorities responded to the crash scene at about 5:30 a.m. at the intersection with South Lucille Street and located the Seattle Fire Department crews giving aid to the injured woman.
Unfortunately, the female pedestrian succumbed to her crash injuries at the scene.
Officers said it is unknown if the victim was crossing the street or in a crosswalk when she was hit by the vehicle.
Moreover, the 64-year-old male driver involved in the accident was southbound on First Avenue South when the accident happened.
The authorities stated, “We did have our drug recognition expert respond to the scene to do an evaluation, and we did find signs of impairment.”
Police said the driver will be booked into the King County Jail for for vehicular homicide once he’s medically cleared.
No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in this fatal accident.
