1 Killed in Santa Ana Pedestrian Accident on Willits Street and Sullivan Street

 
SANTA ANA, CA (February 24, 2021) – Tuesday morning, an elderly woman died in a pedestrian crash on Willits Street and Sullivan Street.
 
According to Santa Ana Police, the incident happened at around 11:45 a.m. Moreover, it occurred at the intersection of Willits Street and Sullivan Street.
 
Reports revealed that a vehicle made a left turn towards the eastbound Willits Street from southbound Sullivan Street. Then, it struck the female pedestrian in her 80s.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported the victim to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead. At this time, the identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.
 
Also, the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash left the scene without stopping. However, authorities managed to contact the driver just a few blocks from his residence. The driver was cooperating with the authorities.
 
On the other hand, it is still unknown if the driver knew of the incident. Authorities made no arrest as of this moment in connection to the crash.
 
Furthermore, officers do not believe that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
 
The incident is under investigation.
