1 Killed in Phoenix Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 17 near Cactus Road
PHOENIX, AZ (July 15, 2021) – On Tuesday night, a woman died in a pedestrian crash on Interstate 17 near Cactus Road.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the incident happened on northbound Interstate 17 near Cactus Road and milepost 210.
Reports revealed that a Prius sedan struck a 30-year-old female pedestrian running across northbound Interstate 17, DPS spokesperson Bart Graves said.
Furthermore, responders rushed the victim to a hospital where she later died.
Meanwhile, the Arizona Department of Transportation closed northbound Interstate 17 for several hours to give way to the investigation. All lanes have long since reopened.
