Police Investigate Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Eucalyptus and University Avenues in Riverside

Riverside, CA (December 5, 2024) – 54-year-old woman critical after a crash on Eucalyptus and University Avenues on Thursday.

The victim, a Corona resident, was hit shortly before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Eucalyptus and University Avenues near downtown, according to the Riverside Police Department.

Sgt. Tim Jensen reported that the woman was walking north on Eucalyptus and entered the crosswalk at University Avenue when a southbound Honda Civic, making a left turn onto University from Eucalyptus, collided with her.

The driver, a 29-year-old Riverside man, immediately stopped at the scene, Jensen stated.

Paramedics from the Riverside Fire Department arrived within minutes and found the pedestrian with severe injuries. 

She was transported to Riverside Community Hospital in critical condition.

Police questioned the driver but did not place him under arrest. 

Authorities have requested anyone with information about the incident to contact the Major Accident Investigation Team at 951-826-8720.
