Woman, 69, Killed in Pedestrian Crash on South Mollison Avenue [El Cajon, CA]

69-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck by SUV near East Washington Avenue

 
EL CAJON, CA (April 19, 2019) – A woman lost her life Friday evening following a pedestrian crash on South Mollison Avenue. Authorities withheld the identity of the 69-year-old victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
According to the El Cajon Police Department, the incident happened near East Washington Avenue, at about 7:50 PM. The victim attempted to cross outside of a marked crosswalk when a gray 2003 Ford Explorer struck her.
 
Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where she later died. Meanwhile, the 58-year-old Ford driver did not sustain injuries and remained to cooperate with the investigation.
 
Investigators ruled out alcohol and drugs as possible contributing factors in the fatal crash. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the El Cajon Police Department at (619) 579-3311. Further details will be released following the conclusion of the investigation.
