Woman, 41, Killed in DUI Crash on Aviara Parkway [Carlsbad, CA]

Passenger Killed and Driver Arrested after DUI Crash on Aviara Parkway

 
CARLSBAD, CA (September 15, 2019) – A 41-year-old San Marcos woman lost her life in a DUI crash on Aviara Parkway, Sunday evening.
 
According to the Carlsbad Police Department, the incident happened at about 6:00 PM. 37-year-old Ramos Santos lost control of his 2002 Honda Civic at the intersection of Aviara Parkway and Cobblestone Road. There, the vehicle crashed into a light pole.
 
Unfortunately, Santos’ passenger died at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Emergency responders transported Santos to a hospital for treatment of injuries. Authorities later booked him into county jail on suspicion of homicide, DUI, and driving on a suspended license. Investigators will release additional information once it becomes available.
