Driver Dies in Houston DWI Collision
Houston, MO (June 18, 2025) – William White, 41-year-old of St. Louis, is facing charges following deadly collision on Highway 17 Monday morning.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, an SUV was stopped in a construction zone along the highway, approximately five miles north of town. Suddenly, a box truck rear-ended the SUV.
The 80-year-old SUV, from Bucyrus, died in the crash. A 79-year-old woman sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a Springfield hospital.
Moreover, the box truck driver, William White, was treated for minor injuries and then booked at the Texas County Jail.
Police said William White faces charges of DWI resulting in death, involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault, and armed criminal action. A judge set White’s bond at $50,000.
