Five People Fatally Injured in Fiery Vehicle Crash near Road 30

 
MADERA, CA (July 29, 2018) – Five people were killed late Saturday morning following a collision between two vehicles at a rural intersection.
 
As per reports, the accident took place shortly after 11 AM. A Dodge Charger was heading west on Avenue 9 when it struck a southbound Chevrolet Silverado pickup.
 
The impact caused the pickup to overturn, while the Dodge hit grapevines and caught fire. Three people inside the pickup, identified as 49-year-old Lemoore resident William Morris Siegel Jr , 75-year-old Hanford resident Joe Frank Avila Jr, and 32-year-old Laton resident Taylor Scott Hanning, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two unidentified occupants inside the Dodge were also declared dead by responding officials.
 
An initial investigation suggests that the Dodge was driving 70 to 80 miles per hour, which is higher than the 55 speed limit. Witnesses also claimed that the sedan drove through the stop sign at Road 30.
 
No additional information has been disclosed to the public at this time.
