Injuries Reported during UCLA State-Wide Strike near Westwood Plaza

 
WESTWOOD, CA (May 7, 2018) – Three people were reportedly injured after a vehicle made its way to a large group of picketers participating in UCLA’s state-wide strike on Monday morning.
 
According to the police, the collision near UCLA happened around 9:45 AM. A van, driven by an unidentified driver, was attempting to pass the large group of protesters when he struck three of them. They were walking safely in a nearby crosswalk near Westwood Plaza and Le Conte Avenue.
 
One of the victims was seen holding onto the hood of the vehicle for at least four blocks away from the scene of the accident. The injured UCLA staff members sustained minor injuries and got treated at the scene, while the driver was transported to the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center for a medical evaluation before he was escorted to the UCLA Police Department.
 
No additional information was released to the public regarding the collision.
