WESTMINSTER, CA (January 23, 2019) – Airbags were deployed following a two-car crash Wednesday morning in Westminster.
The crash happened around 7:52 a.m. on northbound 405 Freeway at Westminster Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a black BMW sedan and a maroon Mitsubishi SUV collided, blocking the slow lane.
Both cars sustained severe damage and airbags were deployed. Injuries were also found in the crash but the extent and number of injured patients were not immediately known.
Emergency and towing services were dispatched to the scene to provide medical attention, and to remove the damaged vehicles from the crash site.
Fire crews blocked the third and fourth lanes of the freeway while they worked on the scene.
The specific cause of the crash and who may be at fault remain under investigation.
Despite how clear the roads may seem, speeding on the roadways is extremely dangerous. Going at high rates is irresponsible and unsafe. Oftentimes, other vehicles may not be able to react in time to prevent a potentially fatal crash. Therefore, remember to maintain safe speeds at all times.
