1 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Sandy Hook Avenue
WEST PUENTE VALLEY, CA (March 9, 2019) – Saturday night, a pregnant woman was injured in a two-car crash on Hayland Street. Her name has not been released.
The crash happened around 7:52 p.m. at the intersection of Hayland Street and Sandy Hook Avenue. First responders arrived to the area soon after, to find two damaged vehicles on the the roadway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a gray Lexus sedan collided with a blue Dodge Dart that was parked on the right shoulder. The impact caused major front-end damage to one of the vehicles.
As a result of the impact, one of the involved vehicles was reportedly leaking fluids.
The pregnant woman suffered a chest injury and was taken to a hospital by ambulance for further treatment. The severity of her injuries has not been made available.
Both cars were towed away from the crash site. Furthermore, the surrounding area was blocked off as crews worked to clean and finalize preliminary investigation.
It is currently unclear whether speed or intoxication were contributing factors in the accident. CHP officers are still investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.
