The California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred shortly before 6 p.m. on southbound Highway 1. Warner Deutschman was driving a minivan southbound on Highway 1 at an unknown speed. For inexplicable reasons, the minivan veered into the opposite lane and subsequently hit farm tractors parked on the dirt shoulder north of Black Road.
