56-Year-Old Ward Moberg Arrested in West Richland Car Accident
WEST RICHLAND, WA (February 2, 2019) – On Saturday night, 56-year-old Ward Moberg was arrested for a DUI in a rollover accident on Ranch Road.
According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred around 11:30 PM near Canal Drive.
As per reports, Moberg tried to make a right hand turn from Ranch Road onto Canal Drive when he missed the corner. His vehicle went into the adjacent canal bed. As he was attempting to drive up the bank, he hit a large concrete irrigation box. Due to the impact, it caused his truck to roll onto its side in the canal bed.
First responders arrived at the scene and helped Moberg out of his vehicle. Fortunately, he was not injured.
Authorities arrested Moberg for suspicion of DUI and was booked into the Benton County Jail at about 12:30 AM on Sunday.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. No further details have been disclosed to the public, as the investigation continues.
