Early Morning Pedestrian Crash on Highway 78 in Vista Ends in Fatality

 
VISTA, CA (December 23, 2018) – A fatal pedestrian crash was reported early Sunday morning on Highway 78 in Vista.
 
The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. along the eastbound lanes of Highway 78, just West of Civic Center Drive.
 
According to an initial report by the California Highway Patrol, a male pedestrian was seen lying in the slow lane with major injuries. First responders rushed the man to Palomar Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
 
The name, age and town of residence of the victim were not immediately available pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
