Virginia Baker Dies in Kittias Car Collision

 
KITTITAS, WA (July 16, 2019) – Early Tuesday morning, 55-year-old Virginia Baker from Cheney died in a solo-car accident on 90 Freeway.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash happened around 2:00 AM near Ellensburg. Troopers stated that Baker drove a 2013 Dodge Durango at the time of the accident. In addition, police stated that she crashed off the right hand side of the roadway and drove through a fence. As a result, she came to rest down a small embankment.
 
She was the sole occupant in the SUV and no other vehicles were involved in the collision. The cause of the crash is currently unknown.
 
First responders arrived shortly after the crash. After that, paramedics pronounced Baker dead at the scene.
 
Authorities stated Baker was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
 
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. No further details have been disclosed to the public, as the investigation continues.
