30-Year-Old Man Fatally Injured in Solo-Car Accident at Janitell Road; Steven Webb Critically Injured

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (June 5, 2018) – A man was fatally injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash on South Circle Drive, early Tuesday morning. He was later identified as 30-year-old Vincent Romero. His place of residence was not immediately available.

According to Colorado Springs Police Department Lt Howard Black, the accident happened on South Circle Drive near Janitell Road, around 5:30 AM.

A car, driven by 33-year-old Steven Webb, was traveling westbound on Circle at high speeds when it lost control. The vehicle rolled several times, before coming to a rest about 100 yards away. Romero was ejected from the car, onto the road.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find both men in critical condition. Webb had to be extricated from the heavily damaged car, and was transported to a local hospital. He is reported to still be in serious condition. Romero was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate the fatal collision, but believe speed was the main contributing factor. Webb was arrested and faces vehicular homicide charges. No other information has been disclosed to the public at this time.
