When a Loved One Dies in a Collision
It is true that losing a loved one is devastating. Worse is when someone we love dies in a traffic accident like the Bakersfield vehicle collision.
The benefit of hiring a wrongful death attorney is that they will help you get compensation for the economic and non-economic damages incurred as a result of the death.
However, it is crucial to know that in a wrongful death case, there is a time limit on which the bereaved can take legal action. These restrictions are called the statute of limitations. It will only allow you to file a wrongful death lawsuit within a certain amount of time. When these expire, the legal claim is no longer valid. Thus, the loved ones can no longer file a lawsuit.
