Fatal 5-Vehicle Crash on Highway 126 in Ventura County

 
VENTURA COUNTY, CA (March 23, 2019) – One person was killed following a five-vehicle collision Saturday morning on Highway 126 in Ventura County.
 
The fatal collision happened around 6:06 a.m. at Pico Canyon Road, just West of the Los Angeles County line.
 
According to an initial report, a black vehicle collided into a white vehicle and a blue Nissan Versa. Two other vehicles then got involved.
 
The Ventura County Fire Department officers responded to the scene and confirmed one fatality as a result of the crash. Another person sustained minor injuries.
 
One of the drivers reportedly tried to flee the scene but was detained by a bystander until officers arrived.
 
All eastbound and westbound lanes were closed after the crash. Motorists were advised to use alternate routes and expect delays.
 
No identifying information is being released at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
