1 Dead and 5 Injured in Riverside Car Accident on Winchester Road

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (September 7, 2020) – Sunday afternoon, Valentin Godina died and 5 suffered injuries in a crash on Winchester Road.
 
The incident happened at 3:10 p.m. on Winchester Road and Puoroy Road. According to reports, a distracted 19-year-old pickup driver crashed into a sedan and a minivan that was stopped at a red light. The pickup crashed from behind at a speed of 50 mph.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities confirmed that he was “distracted and failed to observe the stopped traffic in front of him.”
 
The impact of the crash forced the minivan into the dirt shoulder and the sedan into a dirt embankment.
 
Meanwhile, the 53-year-old sedan driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Later, the Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Valentin Godina of Hemet.
 
On the other hand, responders transported a 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman in the minivan with moderate injures.
 
Furthermore, a 7-year-old girl inside the minivan sustained major injuries. A 7-month-old boy sustained minor wounds, the CHP revealed.
 
According to investigators, the pickup driver sustained minor injuries. They clarified that he was not impaired during the crash. However, there were pending charges and the crash remains under active investigation.
