3 Vehicles Involved in Morning Fiery Collision on 210 Freeway in Upland, Injuries Reported

UPLAND, CA (December 1, 2018) – A man was injured following a fiery crash Saturday morning on eastbound 210 Freeway at Mountain Avenue.

The crash happened around 5:21 a.m. involving a red pickup truck, a gray pickup truck and a white bobtail truck.

According to the California Highway Patrol, one of the pickup trucks was trying to go around the other vehicle when it struck the bobtail truck in the slow lane. The impact caused the red pickup truck to catch fire and debris were strewn on the roadway.

The male driver of the red pickup truck was found trapped inside the vehicle with the dashboard and steering wheel on his chest. He was reportedly bleeding from the mouth and passersby tried to get him out of the vehicle.

Paramedics arrived and took the injured driver to a hospital in an unknown condition.

Towing services and cleanup up crews were dispatched to remove the vehicles and clear the fluids that were scattered in the roadway.

The incident is still on active investigation while the authorities are putting the pieces together.

It is important to drive safely and defensively whenever you drive on a freeway. Make sure your mirrors are adjusted properly, use your turn signals and check your blind spot every time you change lanes or decide to pass a slower vehicle. Remember to watch for cars merging onto the freeway and give them adequate space to merge into the slow lane.
