45 People Hospitalized after Rollover School Bus Collision near Pullman

 
GEORGE, WA (November 26, 2018) – A total of 45 people from the University of Washington were sent to the hospital after a bus accident on 90 Freeway, early Monday evening.
 
According to officials with the Washington State Patrol, the collision took place shortly before 5:30 PM, about three miles west of George.
 
As per police reports, a total of six charter buses from the University of Washington were on their way to Pullman for the Apple Cup when one of the buses lost control. It crashed and rolled over on its side, with the school’s marching band inside. Authorities believe the roadway near the area of the mishap was extremely icy and weather/ road conditions may have caused the incident.
 
An emergency team was called to the crash site to assist all the victims involved. A total of fifty-six people was inside the bus but only forty to forty-five people were transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation of injuries. Their injuries were non-life-threating, a spokesman from the school admin stated.
 
Officials are still conducting an investigation at this time, and no new details have been released.
