Ubaldo Ybanez Dead in San Diego Pedestrian Crash

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 23, 2019) – A 79-year-old man identified as Ubaldo Tito Ybanez died in a pedestrian crash on Friday, September 20.
 
According to officials, the crash occurred on the westbound lane Highway 44 near County Road 170 between Alice and San Diego.
 
Ybanez, a resident from Alice, crossed the highway to go home when an unidentified driver in a Dodge pickup truck struck him.
 
Officers said that the driver of the Dodge pickup truck told them that he did not see the gentleman on the highway until it was too late.
 
Department of Public Safety troopers conducted the investigation.
