1 Dead in Palo Alto Auto Accident on State Route 62 and Sunview Road

PALO ALTO, CA (March 14, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a 45-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 62 and Sunview Road.

The accident took place at around 12:20 p.m. on State Route 62, east of Sunview Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP reports that a 45-year-old woman from Palo Alto drove a Nissan. Then, she pulled over on the right shoulder of eastbound State Route 62, east of Sunview Road.

Meanwhile, a Ford F-250 driven by a 68-year-old man from Muskego, Wisconsin was traveling eastbound on SR-62. However, the Nissan suddenly turned left from the shoulder directly in front of the Ford.

As a result, the front of the Ford collided with the left side of the Nissan. Then, the impact was fatal for the Palo Alto woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released by the coroner’s office.

A 47-year-old male passenger from Switzerland who was riding in the Nissan sustained major injuries. Responders took him to Desert Regional Medical Center.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford and a 67-year-old female passenger were both taken to the Hi-Desert Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The CHP has stated that the cause of the accident remained under investigation. However, the authorities do not believe that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.

Furthermore, the authorities urged all drivers to remain vigilant and follow traffic laws to prevent further tragedies on California’s roads.
