Police Investigate Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 in Goleta
Goleta, CA (June 13, 2025) – CHP responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 101 with reported injuries.
Two traffic collisions temporarily shut down the Los Carneros Road offramp in Goleta on Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), two vehicles collided on the southbound offramp of Highway 101 at approximately 8:51 a.m.
CHP reported that a Honda Civic was traveling at speeds over 80 mph when it struck a pickup truck.
The force of the crash caused both vehicles to roll down an embankment, eventually sliding onto the southbound onramp—one vehicle reportedly ended up on its roof.
The CHP Traffic Incident Page also noted that, according to the Sheriff’s Office, one of the injured individuals became combative at the scene.
Around the same time, CHP confirmed a second traffic collision occurred in the same area, although details regarding that incident have not yet been released.
Authorities closed the roadway for several hours to manage the scene and conduct an investigation, reopening it by 11:00 a.m. Friday.
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collisions.
