Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 50 Leads to 1 Fatality [Carson City, NV]

1 Victim Pronounced Dead after Multi-Car Collision near Bunny Ranch Road in Carson City

 
Carson City, NV (April 24, 2020) – Wednesday afternoon, a two-vehicle collision was reported on Highway 50 that caused one person’s death.
 
The Nevada Highway Patrol confirmed one fatality in a collision that occurred on April 22 on Highway 50 near Bunny Ranch Road. Emergency personnel arrived to the scene after receiving multiple 911 calls.
 
Central Lyon County Fire reached out to Carson City fire department for assistance in the crash. The two teamed up to take over the scene around 3:45 p.m., in the Mound House area east of Carson City.
 
Officials found at least three patients who were critically injured from the crash.
 
Two Careflight emergency helicopters and another ground ambulance were called to the scene to rescue the injured victims.
 
Police are still investigating what caused the collision. More information will be provided once available.
 
The surrounding area on Highway 50 was blocked off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. In addition, officials are asking other motorists to stay out of the area for the time being.
