Two-Vehicle Crash on Grapefruit Boulevard and Avenue 52 Kills 1 Person, Injures Another [Coachella, CA]

1 Person Dies, Another Hospitalized after Multi-Vehicle Crash on Grapefruit Boulevard and Avenue 52

Coachella, CA (September 24, 2021) – A two-vehicle crash on Grapefruit Boulevard and Avenue 52 left one person dead and another hospitalized on Thursday morning. 

The tragic incident happened on September 23 near the intersection of Grapefruit Boulevard and Avenue 52. 

At around 8 a.m., the Riverside County Fire Department responded to the scene and confirmed that the collision involved at least two vehicles. However, it is currently unclear what events led up to the collision. 

Firefighters also responded to the incident and reported that the crash had one fatality. Authorities will release the victim’s identification once the next-of-kin is notified.

Furthermore, emergency personnel transported one person to a local hospital with minor injuries. There has been no information regarding the patient’s current condition. 

Due to the impact of the collision, authorities had to close the Grapefruit Boulevard between avenues 52 and 53. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
