Bakersfield police officers responded to the scene around 9:00 a.m. Emergency crews also arrived to the area shortly after.

Paramedics eventually took the driver of the SUV to a nearby hospital for further treatment. However, there has been no update on their current medical condition.

Police say the driver appeared unresponsive and might have suffered a medical emergency prior to the accident. As far as the pickup driver, he remained uninjured.
