2 Hospitalized after Car Accident near Martinelli Road

 
Forestville, CA (December 9, 2018) – On Sunday morning, two people were injured in a DUI crash on Highway 116. The identities of the victims have not yet been released to the public.
 
According to officials, the accident took place around 8:00 AM, just west of Martinelli Road. First responders arrived at the scene, after receiving multiple calls about the incident.
 
As per reports, the driver of the truck lost control of his vehicle, causing him to drive off the road, and crash.
 
Due to the impact of the collision, major damages were sustained, trapping the two occupants inside. No other vehicles were involved.
 
They had to be extricated by emergency officials, and were rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. The California Highway Patrol stated the driver & his female passenger suffered major injuries, including facial lacerations. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
 
The highway was closed for sometime after the accident, while clearing operations and preliminary investigation took place in the area. The driver was suspected of being intoxicated at the time of the collision, but no charges have been filed. No further details have been disclosed, as the investigation continues.
