Injuries Sustained in Two-Vehicle Accident in Jurupa Valley

JURUPA VALLEY, CA (March 10, 2019) – Sunday morning, two people were injured in a major car accident on Limonite Avenue.

Jurupa Valley Police Department responded to the wreck shortly after 7:30 PM at the intersection of Limonite Avenue and Archer Street, just west of Van Buren Boulevard.

Officials stated that a red 2014 Ford F150 was eastbound on Limonite Avenue when a 2013 Toyota Camry traveling northbound on Archer Street made a turn into the pickup truck. Based on preliminary investigations, the Ford had the right of way when it was broadsided by the Camry. Due to the impact, the Camry sustained major damages on the left side and the Ford had front end damages.

First responders arrived immediately after. The driver of the Camry sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation. In addition, the pickup driver was injured but remained at the scene and cooperated with police. There has been no update on their medical statuses.

The authorities do not believe drugs and alcohol were contributing factors.

Many residents who live around the area have reported how dangerous the intersection is to city officials. Despite the complaints, nothing has been done and several accidents ranging from major injuries to fatalities have occurred since then.

Take extra precaution when you’re behind the wheel. Scan your surroundings for other motorists and never assume other vehicles will give you the right of way.
