2 Hospitalized in Wrong-Way Crash in Winnetka

WINNETKA, CA (December 18, 2018) – Tuesday night, two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision on Parthenia Street just east of Sunny Brae Avenue. The identity of the drivers involved have yet to be released to the public.

Detective Daniel Menesez from the Los Angeles Police Department stated the incident took about 8:00 PM.

As per reports, a 16-year-old female driving a 2012 Mini Cooper was traveling westbound on Parthenia Street, when for unknown reasons she crossed into opposing traffic and struck another vehicle head-on. The other vehicle involved was identified as a 1991 Toyota truck driven by a 59-year-old man from North Hills. Both vehicles were towed away due to major damages.

First responders transported both drivers to a nearby hospital after sustaining serious injuries for further medical evaluation. Status on their condition has no been released.

There was no indication either driver was under the influence. The cause of the accident is still unknown as investigations continue.
