Two Fatally Hurt after Elko Rollover Accident on Highway 225
ELKO, NV (November 13, 2019) – Two Elko-area residents died following a solo-car rollover accident on Highway 225 on Sunday, November 10.
According to reports, the crash occurred at around 8:20 p.m. on Highway 225, north of 80 Freeway, about 20 miles north of Elko.
The NHP said that the driver and a passenger in a Volkswagen Jetta traveled south at a high rate of speed. After that, the vehicle went off the right shoulder and overturned several times north of the Tuscarora junction.
The patrol stated that neither had their seat belt on. The force of the crash ejected both.
The initial investigation showed speed as a contributing factor in the incident.
The victims’ identities were being withheld pending notification of loved ones.
