2 Killed and Multiple Injured in Car Accident at 196th Avenue SE

ENUMCLAW, WA (December 5, 2018) – Two people were pronounced dead after a collision on Highway 164, early Tuesday morning. The names and places of residence of the deceased victims were not immediately released to the public, pending notification of next of kin.

According to troopers with the Washington State Patrol, the two victims were among four people who were ejected from their vehicle.

Reports revealed that a Kia with four occupants crashed into a pickup truck at around 1:00 AM on the highway at 196th Avenue SE, just south of the White River Amphitheatre.

Due to the impact of the crash, the pickup drove into a nearby pole, causing power lines to go down over the road. As a result of the collision, both directions were closed in the area to make way for cleanup operations and preliminary investigation.

The two occupants of the Kia were flown to the local hospital. The truck driver was also transported to a local hospital via ambulance. There is no update on either person’s current medical condition.

It was unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. It was also noted that the roads were said to be icy at the scene. Speeding is also considered a factor in the collision, but no additional information has been disclosed as the investigation continues.
