Two Patterson Residents Hospitalized in Head-ON Crash on Howard Road

Stanislaus County, CA (November 19, 2020) – On Wednesday, two Patterson residents were critically injured in a head-on crash on Howard Road.

The crash happened at about 9:35 a.m. between Interstate 5 and the town of Westley.

A 22-year-old woman was driving east in a Mercedes sedan.

Then, she pulled into the westbound lane and crashed head-on into a Chevrolet pickup driven by a 39-year-old man.

Rescuers rushed both of them to a hospital with major injuries.

Meanwhile, police did not release their names due to the severity of their injuries.

California Highway Patrol Officer Tom Olsen said, “our preliminary investigation indicates that the male driver of the pickup was not wearing his seat belt,”

Further, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.

There are plenty of ways to maximize your safety on the road. Some noteworthy tips include keeping a steady and safe speed when traveling, leaving enough road space behind the driver in front of you, and paying attention to your surrounding.
