FRESNO, CA (December 10, 2018) – A mother and her two children were injured Monday evening following a DUI crash on North Valentine Avenue.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident happened near West San Jose Avenue, at about 7:00 PM. A vehicle was traveling near an apartment complex when the driver lost control and slammed into a tree.

A 10-year-old child fractured several bones and was transported to a hospital for treatment and evaluation. Meanwhile, his younger sibling was hospitalized with minor injuries. Further updates on their current medical conditions were not immediately provided.

The driver of the vehicle, who was identified as the mother of the young victims, suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization. Officers believe that she was under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs at the time of the crash.

Investigators are going to seek felony DUI charges and child endangerment charges against the driver. Additional information will be released following the conclusion of the investigation.
