1 Dead in Arlington Multi-Vehicle Accident on US 287 near Sublett Road

ARLINGTON, TX (August 25, 2024) – Friday night, a truck driver died in a brutal 3-vehicle crash on US 287 near Sublett Road.

Reports said that the incident involving three 18-wheelers and two SUVs happened just before 10:30 p.m. on northbound US 287 near Sublett Road.

Investigators believe the crash was caused when the driver of an 18-wheeler, who lost his life in the incident, failed to reduce speed as traffic slowed or came to a halt in a construction zone. This led to a collision with another 18-wheeler, setting off a chain reaction. 

The crash involved three 18-wheelers, a 2016 Land Rover, and a 2015 Toyota Rav 4. According to Arlington police, the second 18-wheeler struck the Land Rover, colliding with the Rav 4, which in turn hit the third 18-wheeler.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased truck driver after notifying the next of kin, police reported.

The other drivers and passengers involved in the incident suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
