SANTA ROSA, CA (December 13, 2021) – Sunday, authorities arrested Troy Hale after a hit-and-run crash on Old Redwood Highway.
 
According to reports, 20-year-old Troy Hale from Santa Rosa drove into a Virgen de Guadalupe procession. Then, he hit a man on horseback before fleeing.
 
The incident occurred just after 1:30 a.m. in the 3700 block of Old Redwood Highway.
 
As a result, the horse sustained injuries to its head and face but is expected to survive. It “was taken from the scene by the victim’s associates,” officials added.
 
The victim belonged to a group of other horseback riders, as well as walkers. The authorities confirmed that the crash led to no other injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities suspected that Troy Hale was driving under the influence. Eventually, they found his car parked at an address in north Santa Rosa.
 
Also, officers found fentanyl pills and a substance believed to be cocaine. The items appeared to be “possessed for the purpose of sale” along with ammunition.
 
Thus, authorities arrested Troy Hale on suspicion of hit-and-run, driving under the influence, violation of pretrial release, and possession of narcotics for sale. They booked him into the Sonoma County Jail.
