2 Hurt in Las Vegas Car Accident on Grand Central Parkway
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 24, 2019) – An NHP trooper and civilian sustained injuries in a car accident on Grand Central Parkway on July 23.
The collision shut down Grand Central Parkway at Charleston Boulevard while the westbound Charleston went down to one lane.
According to Trooper Travis Smaka, NHP came to the scene at 3:38 a.m. following a rollover crash between an NHP vehicle and a silver Ford Taurus. The NHP vehicle traveled north while the Taurus headed west.
The collision sent the NHP vehicle to overturn and land on its roof. Reports revealed that the trooper worked for traffic enforcement during the crash.
Responders transported the Taurus occupant to UMC with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities are looking into the possibility of alcohol impairment as a factor in the car accident.
