Tragic Vehicle Crash on Route 8 Kills Blackwell Man [Washington County, MO]

Washington County, MO (March 23, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash on Route 8 Friday morning left a 30-year-old Blackwell man dead and sent two women to the hospital.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the deadly crash happened on Missouri Route 8.

Reports say that a 68-year-old Park Hills woman, driving a 2020 Chevrolet Trax eastbound, failed to notice stopped traffic ahead. She crashed into a pickup truck, pushing it into a third vehicle.

Authorities say that the pickup driver died at the scene, while his 28-year-old female passenger from Blackwell sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. The 68-year-old driver was also hospitalized with minor injuries.

All three vehicles were totaled, but no one in the third vehicle was injured. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
