SEDONA, AZ (September 4, 2023) – On Sunday, a tragic two-vehicle crash on State Route 179 near Mile Post 301 killed two people.

The incident happened on southbound State Route 179 near Mile Post 301.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a northbound vehicle veered towards the southbound lane and collided head-on with another vehicle.

Moreover, responders pronounced both drivers of the vehicles, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported a passenger of the second vehicle to Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood with minor injuries.

Furthermore, officers believe that impairment played a role in the crash.
