Tragic Traffic Accident on US 54 Kills Curryville Man [Pike County, MO]

Pike County, MO (December 28, 2024) On Thursday afternoon, a 32-year-old man from Curryville was killed, while 2 others were hurt after a traffic accident on US 54.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the fatal incident happened at about 5 p.m. on U.S. Route 54 in Pike County

Reports say that the fatal crash killed a man and left two others seriously injured.

Authorities say that the collision occurred just before 5:00 PM west of Pike 292. A Ford Explorer, traveling eastbound, crossed into the westbound lanes and collided head-on with a Lincoln Town Car.

After the impact, the Lincoln veered off the right side of the roadway, while the Ford remained in the westbound lanes. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the Lincoln dead at the scene. The Ford’s driver and passenger were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

MSHP noted that the Lincoln’s driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, while the occupants of the Ford were.
