1 Person Dead in Modesto Auto Accident on Highway 99 near Pelandale Avenue

MODESTO, CA (April 1, 2025) – Sunday morning, a tragic rollover crash on Highway 99 near Pelandale Avenue killed one person.

The incident happened at around 12:47 a.m. on southbound Highway 99, south of Pelandale Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a southbound vehicle collided with another vehicle for still unknown reasons. Then, the force of the crash pushed the first vehicle to roll over on the right shoulder of the highway.

Moreover, responders rushed the 39-year-old male driver of the first vehicle to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
