1 Dead in Santa Cruz County Motorcycle Accident on Carlton Road and Thompson Road

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA (May 10, 2023) – Monday afternoon, a tragic motorcycle crash on Carlton Road and Thompson Road killed 1 person.

The incident happened at 9:48 a.m. on Carlton Road and Thompson Road.

According to reports, a 30-year-old woman from San Jose drove a 2023 Honda CBR600RR south on Carlton Road north of Thompson Road.

Then, for reasons still unknown, the woman lost control of her motorcycle and struck the roadway. Then, the woman hit the road and went southeast. Afterward, she slid over the yellow lines and crashed into a 2024 Freightliner Semi-Truck traveling north on Carlton Road.

The crash left the woman with fatal injuries. When responders arrived, they declared the woman dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the authorities haven’t determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
