Tragic Hit-and-Run Crash on Mesa Drive Claims a Life [Houston, TX]

Houston, TX (August 3, 2024) On Thursday evening, a man riding a motorcycle was killed in a tragic hit-and-run crash on Mesa Drive.

According to the Houston Police Department, the fatal 2-vehicle crash happened at about 11:38 p.m. on 5801 Mesa Drive.

Reports say that a gray Kia rear-ended a motorcycle rider. Police say that the motorcycle was northbound on Mesa Drive and was stopped at a red light when the deadly crash happened.

Officials say that first responders found a motorcycle down on the road and pronounced the male rider dead at the scene.

Authorities say that the driver of the Kia fled the scene on foot. Officials later found the 27-year-old male driver and was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Police are investigating the fatal rear-end crash and have not released further information about the incident.
