1 Person Dead in Bakersfield Auto Accident on Hosking Avenue and South Union Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 24, 2024) – Friday night, a tragic DUI crash on Hosking Avenue and South Union Avenue killed one person.

The incident happened around 7:24 p.m. at the intersection of Hosking Avenue and South Union Avenue.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a northbound Chevrolet SUV collided with a Honda sedan making an eastbound to northbound left turn from Hosking Avenue.

Moreover, responders rushed a 12-year-old and 11-year-old passenger of the Honda to a hospital, both with major injuries. Then, authorities confirmed that the 12-year-old succumbed to injuries and was later pronounced dead at Kern Medical.

Furthermore, officers arrested the driver of the Chevrolet on suspicion of reckless driving, gross vehicular manslaughter, and DUI-related charges.
