San Diego, CA (May 19, 2023) On Thursday morning, a tragic crash on Quivira Avenue left 2 people dead and 4 others injured.

According to San Diego police, the car-motorcycle collision at about 9 a.m. near Quivira Avenue and West Mission Bay Drive.

Reports say that a motorcycle traveling over 100 mph collided with a Toyota Prius with 5 occupants. Officials say that the motorcycle was in the bike lane to avoid other vehicles.

Officials say that the 34-year-old motorcyclist was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say that the occupants of the Prius were transported to a nearby hospital with different level of injuries. Officers say that the occupants of the Toyota were a family from Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, the front seat passenger of the Prius, a 39-year-old woman, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

SDPD is investigating the fatal car-motorcycle collision and have not released further details about the deadly crash.
