Fatal Head-On Collision in Stoddard County Leaves One Dead, Four Injured
Bloomfield, MO (November 8, 2024) On Wednesday evening, a person was killed while 4 others were hurt in a tragic crash on Highway 25.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the fatal incident happened after 6 p.m. on Highway 25.
Reports say that a fatal head-on collision on Highway 25, north of Bloomfield, left one person dead and four others, including children, injured
Authorities say that a northbound pickup truck collided with a southbound SUV.
Officials say that a 53-year-old woman driving the pickup truck, a Bloomfield resident, died at the scene. Meanwhile, emergency responders identified her as the sole fatality.
Additionally, the SUV’s driver, a 77-year-old Bloomfield woman, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital.
Three young passengers in the SUV—a 4-year-old boy and two 13-year-old girls, all from Bloomfield—suffered minor to moderate injuries. They were taken to a hospital in Cape Girardeau for treatment.
Stoddard County Coroner Brent Stidham confirmed that the deceased’s family has been notified. However, authorities are withholding the names of all involved as the investigation continues.
The collision blocked Highway 25 for several hours as emergency crews responded, including MSHP troopers, Coroner Stidham, and personnel from the Bloomfield Department of Public Safety, Stoddard County Ambulance District, and Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office.
