Tragic Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 5 Kills 1 [Tacoma, WA]

Tacoma, WA (May 13, 2023) On Friday morning, an auto-pedestrian crash on Interstate 5 resulted in a fatality.

According to the Washington DOT, the traffic collision happened near McKinley Avenue at around 7:37 a.m.

Reports say that a vehicle fatally struck a pedestrian on northbound Interstate 5 in Tacoma.

Officials say that the pedestrian crash blocked 3 right lanes and the from I-705/SR 7. Officials say that the blockage ended around 10 a.m.

WSP, WSDOT crew, and members of the Tacoma Fire Department responded to the scene.

Authorities are investigating the traffic collision and have not released additional information at this time.
