Tragic Auto-Pedestrian Accident on I-35 Claims a Life [Austin, TX]

Pedestrian Killed in Early Morning Crash on Interstate 35 in Austin

Austin, TX (April 05, 2025) A tragic auto-pedestrian accident on I-35 claimed the life of a person early Saturday morning.

According to authorities, the deadly incident happened at about 1:25 a.m. near the 1100 block of North I-35 near 12th Street.

Reports say that a vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian on Interstate 35.

Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the scene and attempted CPR, but the adult victim died at the site.

Authorities closed both the upper and lower decks of I-35 following two separate crashes. In the second incident, all southbound lanes shut down near Dean Keaton on the lower deck.

Officials diverted traffic to the frontage road at exit 234C during the investigation and cleanup. All lanes have since reopened, but earlier delays prompted authorities to urge drivers to seek alternate routes.
