Tragic 2-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 280 Kills 1 [Daly City, CA]

Daly City, CA (December 1, 2024) On Thursday evening, a violent 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 280 left a person dead at the scene.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the fatal crash happened at about 10:45 p.m. near the Highway 1 junction.

Reports say that the two-car collision occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. on northbound I-280 near the Highway 1 junction by the Eastmoor Avenue exit.

Authorities reported that the collision involved a Honda and another unidentified vehicle.

Rescue crews pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Officials have withheld the person’s identity pending notification of family members.

The crash led to the closure of the four left lanes of northbound I-280, leaving only the far-right lane open to traffic. A Sig Alert for severe traffic conditions remained in effect until all lanes were reopened at about 1:30 a.m. Friday.

The CHP is investigating the incident, and no additional details have been released.
