Rio Linda, CA (September 15, 2023) On Thursday evening, a pedestrian was killed and a man was hurt in 2 traffic crashes on Elkhorn Boulevard.

The California Highway Patrol North Sacramento division say that the deadly hit-and-run happened on the 500 block of Elkhorn Boulevard near Rio Linda Boulevard.

Reports say that a silver sedan fatally struck a pedestrian and fled the scene afterward. The male pedestrian was declared dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, another driver swerved to avoid the pedestrians prone body, however the vehicle he is driving veered off the road and into a house.

Officials say that the vehicle did not hit the house, however, the driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities say that the driver had his juvenile daughter in his vehicle, but she was uninjured.
